“Rebirth” in it’s simplest form, is a celebration of life. This piece was inspired by a drive I took in Wyoming, where I saw the most incredible sunset. While listening to music and watching the colors shift and change over the horizon, I was feeling everything at once. I felt a longing for reconnection with my being, joy for the opportunities in my life, utter awe at such beauty filling every corner of my vision. I felt the pain of trying to live up to my own standards, the stress I created for myself, pure bliss and exhilaration for the never-ending busy; I was crying, laughing, smiling. What a confusing twist of emotions humans are capable of feeling. And it’s this that “Rebirth” represents, the beauty and excitement of being human. It’s fast and furious, celebrating what joy it is to be human and get to experience all of the emotions. Yes, being human can be tedious, difficult, full of sorrow. I’m not sure about others, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. May we all be full of gratitude to be able to experience such a vast array of things; it is exciting, and it should be celebrated.
